The club has 35 swimmers entered at the Rising Stars gala at Shipley pool on Sunday, an excellent turnout. Doors open at 5.00 with warm up at 5.15 for racing to commence at 5.45. Estimated finish is at 8.30. This gala has attracted a large number of entries, which in turn means a large number of spectators. We would therefore suggest that anyone wishing to ensure a good view gets to the pool in good time.

Many thanks to all those that attended our curry night at the Three Singhs last Wednesday. Everyone had a good time and the restaurant donated £300 from the takings to club funds. This was the first of several fund raising events that we will be staging over the coming year in order to raise funds towards the 40th aniversary celebrations of our twinning with Monchengladbach Swimming Club.

The annual gala presentation evening is to be held 7.30pm Friday 27th November at Fields Sports & Social Club. During the evening we will be presenting the medals for the club championships as well as announcing the top boy/girl for the past year and the club captains for the coming year. Entry is by ticket only, available from Neil/Karen Brundle at a cost of £2 adults and £1 children. As in previous years, everyone attending is requested to bring some food for the buffet. Please speak to Karen to ensure that we have a variety of items to eat rather than 1000 sausage rolls! Donations for raffle prizes would also be appreciated.

There will be a DJ throughout the evening to keep everyone entertained, which combined with a keenly priced bar should make for a very informal atmosphere. Following a couple of incidents last year, the committee would like to remind parents that they are responsible for the behaviour of their children on the night and would request that they stay within the concert hall, other than when visiting the toilet.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday 14th November at Halifax pool,  warm up at 7.00 for a 7.30pm start. Teams from Bradford Swimming Club, Bradford Dolphins, Bingley, Spenborough and Saddleworth will compete for the George Barraclough Trophy.

You will have been notified if your child has been selected to be part of our team. This is a points-based gala, so if you have been selected to swim, please turn up! We need to make every race count!
