The saving of the ‘Trailer’
On the evening of the Friday Buffett at the village hall, when virtually all of the club had started to go their host families, two hero’s remained to help clean up and await their hosts.
Whilst sat waiting patiently in the hosts car, shattered after the long day, all of a sudden the car doors flew open like an SAS invasion, the interpreter shouting “get out ze car, get out ze car”, thinking the car was on fire or there was a bomb alert the two hero’s jumped out of the car (graciously saving the potato salad bowl).
At this point the German Hosts started running down the hill away from the car shouting “save ze barrel it’s in the green”, not knowing what they were talking about the two hero’s decided it was a good idea to run with them down the hill, still looking for the ze barrel. As we approached the bottom of the hill this barrel turned out to be the beer trailer that had unhitched from another car as it turned the corner and run aground into the grass.
After noticing this, the two hero’s cracked out laughing, and decided to help put the trailer back on the road, and then onto the car, this itself turned out to be like watching the `Chuckle Brothers’ (to me, to you). Eventually the trailer was hitched onto the car and left.
Therefore two hero’s (Ricken und Marken) save not only Monchengladbach from destruction but the trailer and the potato salad.
